Treasurer’s Report : For the second year in a row the Annual Flower Show made a profit on the day and Robert gave a breakdown of the various figures.
Social Secretary’s Report : Wendy expressed her thanks to the ladies who helped out in the kitchen etc at the Annual Flower Show. Unless there are any other suggestions Wendy proposed that our annual dinner should once again be held at the Broadcroft Hotel at the end of February. Wendy will liaise with the Broadcroft with regards to prices, menus etc.
Proposals for our Spring Outing include Glenharn near Helensburgh
Proposals for our summer outing include Willowhill, Fife or the Tibetan Garden near Moffat.
Speaker Secretary’s Report : Adam outlined the programme for the rest of the season.
Web Secretary’s Report : Isabel stated that between August and this meeting there had been 3000 visits to the Facebook page, mainly to the AFS and meetings section. During the same period there were 430 views to the website page, again to the sections on the AFS and the meetings but also people looking at the photos on the website.
Annual Flower Show : Overall the show had positive comments though, as so often happens, there were some questions about judging decisions. The committee agreed to arrange another show for next year on 5th September 2026. There is, however, some uncertainty about the hall’s future but it is hoped that this will be clearer in the new year.
AOB : Anne asked if Paul could ask the members, when emailing them about each forthcoming meeting, if they could bring their own cup . Anne also stated that instead of 2 flasks there is now only 1 flask being left out for us at our meetings. Paul will contact Enterprise House regarding this.
