Our first meeting of the 2026-27 session will take place at 7:30pm on Thursday the 15th of October in our regular venue, Enterprise House, Strathkelvin Way, Kirkintilloch. Our guest speaker will be Olivia Thomas of Lark Rose who will speak on Growing Flowers for Indoor Display.
Olivia started growing cut flowers as a garden project, and had a small bed on the go. During the first Covid lockdown of 2020, "things got out of hand" when she dug up half of her lawn to make new beds, started reading all the books, and got into experimenting with varieties and propagation techniques.
Growing more flowers than she could ever use herself, she started selling them locally and dabbled in larger scale farming. But her heart lies in her own garden, and she says that her real interest is now in getting as many cut flowers as possible out of her own space, and helping other folk do likewise.
